Ok, I'm not into wrestling at all. But this dude is cool as hell. The way he talks in detail about his work and what he's into shows his level of passion for things. And he makes it very clear he's not some dumb guy throwing punches for TV. He's smart, he knows how to analyze and make things with love and care.

Can I be honest, when I first saw clips from "Aliens" back in 2017 or 18, I legitimately thought it was a movie that came out in the mid to late 2000s. So I was surprised to see that it came out over 35 years ago in 1986. Derek Vanlint's cinematography is amazing throughout the film, along with the amazing blend of action and horror.

Interesting to know that Malakai Black is a werewolf fan also. I am as well, and I also favor the bipedal over those on four legs. Those that stand upright better embody the man side to the monster. With werewolves being almost a split, I think that is more fitting to have something that stands like a human, but looks and behaves like something else. I also like Howling over American Werewolf in London. American Werewolf in London is a classic, but one thing I have been struggling with is that there can be a case made that there was actually no werewolf in the movie. It's just something I started to wonder about when watching it for like the fourth time. What if the guy is suffering from lycanthropy (the medical condition), and we are seeing the movie from his perspective? In Howling, there are definitely werewolves.

I’d have imagined something more gothic involving cults from this man

I love watching people geek out over their favourite horror movies. Since this movie is also one of my favourites, this was extra fun.

If memory serves, Alien is saved in the Library of Congress film archive- basically, a collection of films of importance to film history, history in general, and/or of cultural importance. Would not be at all surprised if the Smithsonian has a collection of props based on some of those films!

Great interview, learning about the Aliens trivia was so cool as I hadn't known any of it before. Black was one of my favorites back in NXT, so it was sweet to see you both have such a chill but passionate convo abt horror together; I should really catch up on his AEW run!

Trivia answer: The picture they used of Amanda Ripley McClaren in the deleted scene with Burke telling Ripley of her death was actually Sigourney Weaver's mom. That was the cameo!

I remember watching this on tv when I was like, 14. It was an incredible, nightmare-inducing, tense experience. I love it

I highly recommend watching Aliens on VHS. Something about making a dark movie even darker and grittier brings you back to the first time you may have seen it (and were terrified by it) as a child..

Aliens will always be my favorite horror film. Even tho it leans more towards the Sci-Fi action genre in some aspects, while Alien was through in through a horror film. Every single actor put in work and dedication(though I wish we had a cut of J.Remar as Hicks). it's the movie that introduced me to Alien as a franchise and Bill Paxton as the amazing and funny actor that he was. The effects were spot on and very advanced for the time and up there with(but not as AMAZING as) the Thing's was. Both are what I expect from an amazing top horror film in the effect department. the passion and love behind it was shown throughout. although some say Cameron was really rough to film with, the end product goes to show he had a vision and when left to make it happen he succeeds I would say 80 percent of the time.
